What the school is for
Oakridge opened in 1974 in a house and four acres. It is now three hundred and ten
children on twenty-two, and the founding idea has not moved.
Know the child
Sixteen to a class is not a marketing number. It is the point at which a teacher can
still tell you what every child did on Tuesday.
Keep the week wide
Latin, an instrument, two afternoons of sport and a play a year. A child who is only
good at exams has been short-changed.

Who teaches here
Thirty-one teachers for three hundred and ten children. Eleven of them have been
here more than a decade, which is the number we are proudest of.
