Term dates, and a change to the morning drop-off

Term dates for the coming year are below. They are also on the fees page, and they go out by email at the start of each term.

The three terms

Michaelmas runs from the first Wednesday of September to the Friday before Christmas week, with a week’s half term at the end of October. Lent runs from the first Tuesday of January to the Thursday before Good Friday, half term in the middle of February. Summer runs from the Tuesday after Easter to the second Wednesday of July, half term at the end of May.

Sports days, the summer concert and the Year 8 leavers’ service are fixed on the calendar a year ahead so that grandparents can book trains.

The drive

From after half term the drive is one-way: in at the lower gate, out at the top. This is not a popular decision and it is not a permanent one either, but three near-misses in a fortnight is three too many.

Drop-off runs from twenty past eight to ten to nine. Breakfast club opens at quarter to eight and needs no booking. Anyone arriving after nine should come to the office rather than the classroom.

Reminder about kit

Games kit stays in school from Monday to Friday and goes home at the weekend. Named, please. The lost property basket at the end of last term held forty-one unnamed jumpers.
